Zeek

Zeek was the UK's gift card marketplace — a mobile platform for buying discounted gift cards and selling unused ones for cash. As UX & UI Designer, I worked across the consumer apps on iOS and Android, covering onboarding, browsing and search, the wallet and listing experiences, and the checkout and payout flows.

Mission

Make a peer-to-peer gift card marketplace feel as trustworthy as a major retailer.

Resale marketplaces depend on transactional clarity. Users were exchanging money for digital codes from strangers, often at a discount, and the design needed to remove every doubt at the points of payment, redemption, and payout. The work covered the full end-to-end experience: onboarding, hundreds of brand inventories, wallet and code redemption, checkout with multiple payment methods, and seller payout flows.

Scope
  • Onboarding & registration. First-time experience explaining the marketplace concept and getting users to a working account.
  • Marketplace & browsing. Buying discounted cards and selling unused ones, surfaced through search, categories, and brand pages.
  • Wallet. A unified place to manage purchased cards, review codes, and redeem balances.
  • Checkout & payout flows. Multiple payment methods on the buy side; verified bank transfer and card payouts on the sell side.
  • Listing & inventory. Tools for sellers to list cards quickly, with monitoring for active listings.
  • International & Android. Localization across the UK, US, and Germany, and a Material Design Android build.
